Ice skating is traveling on ice with skates that are thin blade-like devices mounted on to a boot. Unlike skiing or snowboarding, ice skating glides trough ice instead of snow. They are a cheaper alternative than hitting the slopes and can provide just as much fun. It is an enjoyable event for all ages. It is also easy to learn. If you know how to roller skate then ice skating come naturally. Most people like to attend their local ice rink to skate. It is more convenient than snowboarding, skiing or sledding because you don't need to travel to snowy mountains. There are many things you can do with ice skates such as figure skating, speed skating and playing hockey. Hockey is one of the more popular forms because it is a sport. It’s almost like soccer but with skates. Ice skating is a very casual and recreational activity.
